About the Founder of Risk Core, John Zhao

John has over thirty years of diverse project experience including PMO governance, qualitative risk workshop facilitations, quantitative cost and schedule risk analysis with major owner companies in Canada, USA and Europe; field coordination, cost engineering and contract management with some of world-renowned EPC firms in Canada; and field engineering for commercial and heavy industrial projects with contractors in Middle East.

John is a Subject Matter Expert in project risk, having facilitated over 100+ workshops and conducted QRA sessions totalling over $65 Billion. He developed his proprietary Riscor Model and applied on a variety of capital projects over past 12 years for contingency and escalation. His expertise includes applying the B.E.S.T. approach for FEL 1; Risk KT for FEL 2; T.E.A.M. approach for risk responses, and Riscor QRA for FEL 3 cost estimate.

John was a guest speaker at various local universities. He taught project risk management skills and knowledge for AACE and recently started the public training classes to teach @RISK Monte Carlo simulation technique. He has presented the topics of project risk management since 2005 in various conferences including Abu Dhabi, Miami, London, Las Vegas, Denver, New Orleans, Ontario, Nashville, Calgary and Beijing.
